MagnaMax™, is a new premium knife steel that builds on the proven performance of MagnaCut®.

This new grade is designed to push performance further, giving makers and manufacturers improved edge retention while maintaining the balance that made MagnaCut® so widely trusted.

MagnaMax™ is the newest addition to the MagnaCut® family of grades, offering the same corrosion resistance and heat treat approach, now with enhanced edge retention.

In discussion with Dr. Larrin Thomas, MagnaMax™ was developed as a natural progression of the MagnaCut® platform, focusing on increasing edge retention while preserving the balance of properties that made MagnaCut® so widely adopted. Rather than redesigning the steel entirely, the goal was to refine performance within the same framework, giving users a new option depending on their priorities.
