Pine Cone

Pine cones are used to make exotic, distinctive knife handles. They’re an interesting choice of material for a knifemaker who wants a handle to really stand out. To make the handle, natural pinecones are cast in resin and then cut into scales to fit onto a knife blade. The resin may be dyed one of several colors including blue, green, yellow/gold, orange, white, red, black, and brown. These pinecone materials are available in two-piece sets with each piece measuring approximately 5” x 1-1/2” x 3/8”.
