TKG Custom Handle Competition Kit

Exclusive to Texas Knifemakers Guild members!
Find out how you can join TKG and compete in the next TKG / Jantz Build-Off.
This division is limited to makers with less than 3 years of experience in knifemaking.
Starting with a pre-shaped blade, competitors focus on the art and craft of making a custom handle. Design, craftmanship, fit and finish, and creativity in use of provided materials will be the focus of judging winners.
All blades used in this build are Made in the USA and feature flat tangs.
Competitors are strictly limited to the materials in the kit with the exception of epoxy, wood oils, dyes or wax, and necessary materials for working (abrasives, files, etc).
1. Choose Your Pre-Shaped Blade (heat treated and sharp)
J1505 Jantz Cook's Blade - 420HC Steel - 10-5/8” overall with 6” blade edge
J1503 Jantz Paring Blade - 420HC Steel - 7" overall with 3" blade edge
RH2415 Green River Belt Blade - Hi Carbon - 9" overall with 5" blade edge
